Nvidia’s competitive advantage is not hardware. Every generation of hardware can be matched by a competitor within 12–18 months. The advantage is 19 years of CUDA libraries, framework integrations, developer tools, university curricula, startup incubation, and institutional knowledge packaged into a platform that makes switching economically irrational. The chip is the delivery vehicle. The ecosystem is the product.

If custom silicon captures inference workloads, Nvidia has already expanded into automotive, robotics, digital twins, and physical AI.
